Job Title: Truck Maintenance – 1st Shift – Dept. 212
Department: Truck Shops – Fort Smith Garage
Shift Time: 5:00 am – 5:00 pm M-F
Pay Rate: $18.75 per hour
*Requires 1 year of experience & must interview with dept. manager*

Summary Repairs and maintains electric, diesel, and gasoline trucks and hydraulic systems by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned)
Must be able to make all minor repairs such as changing belts, hoses, alternators, water pumps, etc. When not working on equipment should be cleaning shop and putting shop supplies and parts away.
Must have tools and be organized in a way to perform job duties in a timely manner.
Must be able to make all adjustments.
Must be brake certified.
Must be able to successfully perform PM1 and PM2 without assistance.
Must be able to operate company wrecker and roll back in safe manner.
Must have good knowledge of Hydraulic systems and able to successfully test GPM and PSI to make diagnosis.
Must be able to make repairs to steel with welding equipment.
Must have knowledge of air braking systems and able to make repairs accordingly.
Must be able to perform brake jobs.
Must have knowledge of all safety equipment required to operate a class 8 tractor safely and according to DOT standards.
Must understand 134A a/c systems.
Must have knowledge of how to repair all suspension components.
Must be willing to perform all safe task given by lead person or shop manager.
Must have or be willing to obtain a DOT health card or possess a CDL.
Must have basic knowledge of trailer suspensions and components.
Must have basic knowledge of forklifts.

Education and/or Experience
Twelve months or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ration, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
