2nd Shift: Further Processing Plant

Dept. 164 – IQF Operator

Shift Hours: 4:00 P.M. – EOS

Pay Rate: $18.50 Per Hour

Summary. Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the IQF equipment to ensure product quality, consistency, and compliance with food safety and company standards. This role involves monitoring freezing operations, performing equipment adjustments, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting production goals.               

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate and monitor the IQF tunnel freezer and related equipment.
  • Ensure product is frozen to required temperature and quality specifications.
  • Adjust equipment settings (airflow, belt speed, temperature, etc.) for optimal efficiency.
  • Inspect product before and after freezing for quality, consistency, and proper packaging.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Follow all HACCP, GMP, and food safety procedures.
  • Keep accurate production records, logs, and documentation.
  • Assist in product changeovers, cleaning, and sanitizing of equipment.
  • Work closely with supervisors and quality control staff to meet production targets.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.

Education and/or Experience                                  

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
  • Previous experience in food processing, freezing, or production (preferred).
  • Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in cold/freezer environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Good communication skills and teamwork.

 

Language Skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  Ability to write simple correspondence.  Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.  Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
