Bachoco USA is seeking a Live Hang Supervisor for our Fort Smith, AR location.
Summary: Oversees the live hang department by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Makes sure that the live hangers are hanging the birds correctly and safely per Bachoco USA Animal Welfare standards
- Occasionally drives a forklift and backhoe to transfer cages of chickens from the truck to the cage dumper.
- Occasionally runs the cage dumper.
- Sets up pickers in picking room and kill machines before production starts.
- Makes sure the back dock and the break room are kept clean.
- Helps in the picking room if needed.
- Completes paperwork.
- Follow all directives set forth by senior management
- Completes all production reports for his/her department
- Completes Bachoco USA Animal Welfare Training
- Keeps Plant Manager and Production Superintendent informed on any production, mechanical, supply or employee problems which effects plant performance.
- Insures proper staffing and training of all employees.
- Understands company specifications on all products and proper operating in a safe and quality environment to achieve goals of line performance.
- Coordinates with department heads on necessary maintenance, supplies, and equipment to ensure line operates properly.
- This is a safety sensitive position.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 50 - 65 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: High School diploma or education beyond high school including special training, vocational school and/or college courses is preferred. 1+ years with supervisory experience in manufacturing or live receiving and minimum of 1-year HACCP experience. Food manufacturing is a plus. Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups
of customers or employees of organization. Bilingual is a plus.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Contact Management systems; Payroll systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
